Parkland Engagement

We have this pretty parkland engagement shoot to share with you all today.  We love how this adorable couple share a fun and relaxed afternoon in the park with a mixture of backdrops ranging from a beautiful lake to overgrown woodland - just perfect.

From the bride to be: We met at a boat party in Portsmouth – instant attraction, we danced the night away…throughout the night we exchanged numbers and when I woke up the next day I was too nervous to message him, but luckily one of us had some courage and he texted me a few hours later on the drive home. We kept in touch for a couple of weeks and then one day he invited me up to Northampton to meet up again. I was in my 2nd year at Uni and at the time I was still living in Luton with mum and dad. So, off I went on Halloween weekend in 2012 all dressed up and took the plunge! I was SOOOO nervous even though we’d been talking constantly over the weeks. As soon as I got their George instantly put me at ease with his gorgeous big smile. As they say, we’ve been inseparable ever since.

The proposal was the biggest surprise ever – I literally had no idea. I woke up after doing a night shift mid-week, opened the bedroom door to go down and get a coffee, only to find the floor covered in petals. I instantly knew what it meant! The sudden panic that I hadn’t even brushed my hair or teeth yet set in, but I didn’t want to not come downstairs straight as I think George would have died of nervousness! So, I came downstairs, he was down on one knee in the lounge surrounded by candles, flowers and champagne. He gave me a lovely little speech and then popped the question. Obviously, I said yes! I’d never wanted a big, public proposal so it was absolutely perfect. After I’d taken it all in, I phoned my mum & dad and they already knew (of course!). George had been down to ask them for their permission the week before which I thought was so lovely of him. It was actually my mum’s birthday on the day we got engaged. Best present ever eh!? We then drove round to see both sets of parents, it was such an exciting and happy day for us all. I loved it!

What are we looking forward to the most about the wedding? ALL OF IT!!! We are both very excited, this year is flying by. We’ve been engaged for 2 years, so it feels like we’ve been waiting forever. We really can’t wait for the big day to finally be here. I think George is most looking forward to the proper formalities to be over so he can really enjoy the day and take all of it in. He’s very nervous already about his speech. We’re doing speeches first, before the meal, so he actually eats something! I’m most looking forward to walking down the aisle with my lovely Dad and seeing George for the first time. I know that as soon as I see him, all my nerves from the morning getting ready will disappear.

My background is as a wedding & lifestyle photographer, shooting both digital and film to create authentic, soft and natural fine art photographs. Working primarily with natural light to give my work a beautiful, light and airy touch infused with soft tones.

I have always appreciated and valued the simple things in life and finding the interesting in the ordinary.  Coco Lane was founded as I wanted to create something that is about an experience, the slower pace of life, cosiness and candlelight, cuddling up on the sofa with loved ones, being with the people you love, sharing food with close friends, a feeling of home, nurturing a chosen career, wanderlust travels, savouring the small moments in everyday life and just being you and enjoying a cup of tea.

I'm excited to bring you stories that promote all those moments in life that give us value and meaning; inspiring  us to live beautifully.

"I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life.  If you are interested in something, no matter what it is. Go at it full speed.  Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it, and above all become passionate about it.  Lukewarm is no good" - Roald Dahl
