Over the past few weeks, we have been so elated to be sharing Taylor & Porter Photography's Cornish Artisan Collaboration here on Coco Lane. Although I'm sad to say that today is our last part of the story. So it only seemed fitting to finish it on a high, with the story behind the whole collaboration from Taylor & Porter.
From Taylor & Porter: As a film photographer working out of Cornwall—a ruggedly romantic peninsula in the South West of England—I envisioned this story as a celebration of some of the talented artisan friends I know here, whose methods of creativity have many parallels including traditional craft-based practices using their hands and an understanding and deep appreciation of their natural environment.
I wanted to show the time, energy and love that goes into an artisan's work. Often in the wedding industry, we see only the beautiful finished products and it's easy to forget the hours of time and energy that an artisan spends on their craft.
I chose to capture this story on one of the wildest and rugged beaches here in Cornwall. It’s power and majesty always provides me with renewed creative energy, and so I felt it was the right setting for me to showcase and capture these artisan’s work, harmonizing with the beautiful environment that inspires us all.
My background is as a wedding & lifestyle photographer, shooting both digital and film to create authentic, soft and natural fine art photographs. Working primarily with natural light to give my work a beautiful, light and airy touch infused with soft tones.
I have always appreciated and valued the simple things in life and finding the interesting in the ordinary. Coco Lane was founded as I wanted to create something that is about an experience, the slower pace of life, cosiness and candlelight, cuddling up on the sofa with loved ones, being with the people you love, sharing food with close friends, a feeling of home, nurturing a chosen career, wanderlust travels, savouring the small moments in everyday life and just being you and enjoying a cup of tea.
I'm excited to bring you stories that promote all those moments in life that give us value and meaning; inspiring us to live beautifully.
"I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is. Go at it full speed. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it, and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good" - Roald Dahl
