Today on the blog we have the pleasure of introducing Sophie Ellen Bridal Styling Consultancy. Sophie shares an insight into her new business aimed at future brides who are looking for assistance from choosing their dress to colour themes and styles for their bridesmaids, coordinating the ushers with the groom and even a personal shop with the mother of the bride/groom. Sophie tells us more......
Can you tell us about your business?
I recently took a career break from my life as a womenswear buyer and decided that now was the time to take a leap and launch a business I’ve wanted to pursue my whole life.
After extensive research, which involved talking to heaps of brides and of course brides to be it became clear that there was a niche in the wedding market for a bridal stylist that focuses on the fashion element of the day. I’d like to help women find the dress of their dreams, help them decide on colour themes and styles for their bridesmaids, co-ordinate ushers with their groom or personal shop with the mother of the bride/groom whilst subduing the stress that comes with it all. I'd like to be an unwavering support during the whole styling process and this is where Sophie Ellen Style was born.
What is your workflow process?
I really like to make my process as personal as possible. I want my clients to feel like I’m there for support throughout the whole experience as it’s something women & men dream about for a long time!
I start off finding out a little more about my bride/groom through a questionnaire, skype call or personal meeting which gives me a good insight into the plans and ideas they have for their big day. It is very important for me to have an understanding of their vision.
I then put a variety of moodboards together showing how I see the aesthetic of the day looking on the fashion front. This includes a personalised style guide introducing recommended designers and boutiques.
The top package I also include a full personal styling day where all boutique appointments and follow ups are taken care of.
What kind of clients do you work with?
I love to work with all brides-to-be, from the style-conscious and latest fashion followers to women who need extra guidance and inspiration and maybe slightly more intimidated by fashion! Sophie Ellen Style can help women who are time poor, know what they want and can't seem to find it, or women that just don’t know where to begin!
My clients really want professional help in organising the styling for the most important and romantic day of your lives.
Where do you find inspiration?
I’m inspired by everything around me and love being creative. From ribbon colours in fabric shops to wedding photo archives on the impressive Pinterest. I live in a market town but spend a lot of time in London so I’m lucky to see lots of different types of boutiques. There is also so much inspiration to be taken from bridal and fashion magazines, blogs and my favourite vintage shops.
I also love to travel and have found this has had a massive influence on me. Taking in different cultures and their surroundings - the markets, nature, colours, people can be so inspiring.
My favourite up and coming bridal designer is Savannah Miller who I’ve been lucky enough to work with in recent years on her womenswear range. Her style is elegant with a modern twist and she makes her range stand out from the crowd!
What challenges have you set yourself for the next 12 months?
I really want to build Sophie Ellen Style to be a business everyone talks about in a positive way. Happy brides who recommend Sophie Ellen Style to friends would be a dream and an incredible achievement.
I’m truly following my passion and I can only hope I can help create insanely happy brides!

My background is as a wedding & lifestyle photographer, shooting both digital and film to create authentic, soft and natural fine art photographs. Working primarily with natural light to give my work a beautiful, light and airy touch infused with soft tones.
I have always appreciated and valued the simple things in life and finding the interesting in the ordinary. Coco Lane was founded as I wanted to create something that is about an experience, the slower pace of life, cosiness and candlelight, cuddling up on the sofa with loved ones, being with the people you love, sharing food with close friends, a feeling of home, nurturing a chosen career, wanderlust travels, savouring the small moments in everyday life and just being you and enjoying a cup of tea.
I'm excited to bring you stories that promote all those moments in life that give us value and meaning; inspiring us to live beautifully.
"I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is. Go at it full speed. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it, and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good" - Roald Dahl
