Vanessa Gade

When it comes to jewellery us girls can't get enough of it! Whether it's to compliment an outfit, symbolise a relationship/occasion or just because it's beautiful, we love it.  For me, I also find the inspiration and process behind making it intriguing.  The amount of time, effort and love the artist pours into just one piece is priceless.

The same can be said for any artist's work and today we have a beautiful collaboration between an all female team; photographer, Elizabeth LaDuca, Artist/Maker, Vanessa Gade and Stylist, Roberta West from The Romanticist Studios.

From Elizabeth LaDuca: Vanessa is an amazing artist, and her process and inspiration were an integral part of our collaboration. Working with Vanessa and Roberta from the Romanticist Studios, we designed this session to highlight the beauty of Vanessa's work, along with the natural forms and light that inspire her. From a photography perspective, we wanted the collection to compliment her stunning pieces, and bring the beauty and softness of film to her artist spotlight. Vanessa describes her work as contemporary, with clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic reminiscent of Japanese and Scandinavian design. Particular pieces have been inspired by everything from art deco architecture, ikebana flower arrangements, suspension bridges and even crisscrossing power lines. She enjoys the challenge of creating a perfectly balanced geometric structure that still maintains an element of movement, all the while utilizing the negative space as an integral part of the design. Roberta styled each piece and vignette beautifully, allowing us to highlight a range of Vanessa's pieces, explore her process, and play with light and form, making it an incredibly inspiring day together!

My background is as a wedding & lifestyle photographer, shooting both digital and film to create authentic, soft and natural fine art photographs. Working primarily with natural light to give my work a beautiful, light and airy touch infused with soft tones.

I have always appreciated and valued the simple things in life and finding the interesting in the ordinary.  Coco Lane was founded as I wanted to create something that is about an experience, the slower pace of life, cosiness and candlelight, cuddling up on the sofa with loved ones, being with the people you love, sharing food with close friends, a feeling of home, nurturing a chosen career, wanderlust travels, savouring the small moments in everyday life and just being you and enjoying a cup of tea.

I'm excited to bring you stories that promote all those moments in life that give us value and meaning; inspiring  us to live beautifully.

"I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life.  If you are interested in something, no matter what it is. Go at it full speed.  Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it, and above all become passionate about it.  Lukewarm is no good" - Roald Dahl
